About

Hi — Karen Thomson here.   While I’m usually not shy about writing, I’m not a big fan of writing the “about” pages.   I find them difficult to write but it’s just something most people want to read about, so here goes…

From a child to an adult, I have been ridiculed  for being ‘clumsy and silly’ ; I find it uncomfortable and painful to sit upright and constantly lost balance sitting in a cross-legged position on the floor in assembly as a student; getting to the stage where I would automatically send myself to the Principle’s office each Monday morning awaiting punishment for falling over whilst sitting down (figure that).  In 1991, after the birth of my second child, I was diagnosed as having a congenital hip condition that would require a full hip replacement in my early 30s and would result in permanent disability and confinement to a wheelchair by the age of 40.  I decided that neither of these outcomes would happen.  Thus sparked my passion for natural remedies and practices and, although I was registered ‘disabled’ in 2000, I have neither had a hip replacement nor touched a wheelchair.  My ‘disability’ is now unseen to the vast majority of people who touch my life and I have majority control of my pain.

After a career as an Office Administrator and part-time Reflexology practitioner and at the age of 39, shortly after returning to Australia from the UK after 30 years, I became a single parent.  Of my four children, the youngest was only 4 months old.  I had no home, no job and my best friend was on the other side of the world..

Not willing to give up, I enrolled in several free and subsidized courses,  joined Toastmasters in order to increase my confidence and find friends, and won a club then district championship title at my first competition!  I had found another talent! I also continually searched for a solution to the endless problem of earning money whilst still being able to care for my young children at home then, earlier this year, I came across a free internet marketing course in Sydney thereby discovering the power of the internet as a medium for spreading my knowledge and passion to others. Although I’ve purposefully been somewhat a recluse for the last couple of years in order to heal and spend precious time with my children, I am now building a stable yet flexible business so that I can continue to be there for them in their young years.  That’s why we do this business, right?

To free up time for more important things.

I’m creating many products and am involved in a number of joint venture projects.

My latest and most popular products are in
the side navigational panel to your right.

On a personal note, nearly three years on, I’m still content with my single status.  My children and I currently live in the Western suburbs of Sydney where my older boy just adores going to Scout Cubs and visiting his two cousins who live close by.  It is my intention to ‘run’ in my first marathon next year to help raise funds for abused women and their families. It will be a test for my body, mind and spirit, but one that I will win.

I’ll close with one of my favorite quotes that has always motivated me to KEEP GOING.  I hope it motivates you too.

David  Brinkley once said, “A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him.”

Take your bricks and build your future.

God bless,

Karen
